Downtown Kitchener will look festive this week when a Canadian film crew arrives to make a television movie called Loving Christmas. Filming takes place on the corner of King and Queen Street.

Film and television production may continue under current provincial restrictions. All crew members are expected to follow the COVID safety guidelines developed by the Ontario Department of Health and the film industry. Some security measures include an on-site COVID officer, daily testing and contact tracing, improved hygiene and cleaning measures, masks and physical distancing on set, and medical-grade air purification systems for indoor work.

Companies and residents can expect minimal disruption, as only a one-day pavement closure is planned for today; Monday January 18th (the sidewalks on either side of Queen Street in front of the Walper Hotel entrance, the walkway closest to Queen Street in front of the Walper Hotel). Filming is scheduled to last until Friday, January 22nd.
