Dog day afternoon returns to Kiwanis Park in Kitchener
As Summer’s Dog Days are coming to an end, Dog Days will take place again this year at Kiwanis Park in Kitchener.
After a year-long hiatus, the Humane Society of Kitchener Waterloo & Stratford Perth says the annual Dash and Splash fundraiser will return to the park this year.

The fundraiser, which takes place on September 12th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., offers a dog park pool party at the outdoor pool.
To bring your pet to the pool, you must raise at least $ 30 in donations for the walkathon, while corporate teams must raise at least $ 300.

“Although the Dash and Splash Walkathon component will be virtual this year, the main event will be held in person, rain or shine,” said Nick Burke, HSKWSP Development Director.
“We look forward to pet owners bringing their dogs to Kiwanis Park to enjoy the pool, participate in games and giveaways, and meet other pet owners in their community.”
The organization says the funds will be used for the care and life-saving medical treatment of animals.
