Elderly man taken to hospital after Kitchener stabbing: police
Waterloo Regional Police say an elderly man was hospitalized after being stabbed to death in the Eastwood area of Kitchener early Tuesday.
Police were called to the Sheldon Avenue and King Street area just after 6 a.m. after a resident reported that a man was being followed by another man who had a knife.
A short time later, they located the man who wielded the blade and arrested him, but could not find the other man who was being followed.

A 72-year-old man was rushed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

According to police, officers eventually found out that the older man was also allegedly a victim of the man who wielded the knife.
They say the older man was not the man who was persecuted in the first report.
A 19-year-old man faces multiple charges related to the incident, including assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and violation of the release order.
