Kitchener high school place under ‘hold and secure’: Waterloo police

Waterloo Regional Police said they put the Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute in Kitchener on hold and secure on Wednesday morning.

The police announced on Twitter around 1120 a.m. that they were conducting an investigation at the school. It was declared over about 45 minutes later.

“The students will not be released from their classrooms until the police have lifted and secured the hold,” said the District School Board of the Waterloo region.

The police said they would provide more information as soon as it becomes available.

Currently at the Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute in Kitchener for an on-site investigation.

For security reasons, the school was housed in a hold and secured.
