Kitchener man arrested in connection with robbery at pharmacy

Members of the Waterloo Regional Police Department robbery unit arrested a man in connection with a robbery in Kitchener.

At around 3:55 p.m. on October 12, 2021, police responded to a report of a robbery at a pharmacy in the area of ​​Highland Road West and North Drive.

The suspect walked into the pharmacy, waved a suspected firearm and asked the staff for prescription drugs. The suspect then fled on foot.

No personal injuries were reported as a result of the incident.

Through an investigation, police arrested a 43-year-old Kitchener man on October 14, 2021 in connection with the incident. The man is charged with gun robbery, willful disguise, and drug possession.

Police found that the weapon used in the robbery was not a firearm.

The defendant was taken into custody for a bail hearing.
