Kitchener starting to reopen indoor pools, recreation facilities

After the province of Ontario transitioned in Step 3 of its reopening roadmap, the City of Kitchener is starting to reopen indoor sports and recreational options for residents. Visitors are encouraged to visit the city’s website for registration details and health and safety protocols.
Indoor pools:
Starting today, the Breithaupt Center, Forest Heights and Lyle Hallman Pools are open for lap swimming, aqua fitness, family swimming, some group and private lessons and guided tours. Pre-registration is required before the visit. Please visit us online or contact the respective pool for details.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and school closings, the Cameron Heights Pool is currently closed.
Indoor leisure facilities:
- Activa Sportsplex is open for free, pre-registered use of the hiking trails and ice rental for sports groups.
- Community centers will remain open for summer camps, youth programs, senior days, and emergency social services.
- The indoor fitness studio Breithaupt will be open for the leisure program on August 3rd
Outdoor leisure facilities:

Programming on outdoor fields and diamonds has resumed. Outdoor spaces remain open. Please follow signs for capacity limits and other health and safety protocols. The province requires face coverings for everyone indoors and for outdoor sports spectators (with a few exceptions).

The outdoor pools will remain open with increased capacity for aqua fitness and lap swimming.
