Kitchener woman arrested after newborn baby abandoned at side of road
Waterloo Regional Police say a Kitchener woman faces multiple charges after a baby was abandoned outside a house in the Rockway area late Monday morning.
Shortly after 11 a.m., several residents called to report that a woman had left a newborn baby in a stroller on the side of the road near Dixon and Eckert Streets.
According to police, the child was safely located before being examined by an ambulance service.
They said the woman tried to move away, but several local residents helped officers track her down.
According to police, one person tried to stop her but was threatened.
