Lidl opening new Northeast Philadelphia food market on Roosevelt Boulevard
KITCHENER (WPVI) – Lidl opened its second grocery store in Philadelphia on Wednesday.
The newest location of the German supermarket chain is at 9175 Roosevelt Boulevard in northeast Philadelphia.
It opened at 8 a.m.
For the first 100 customers, Lidl gave away a $ 5 to $ 100 gift card.
Customers were also able to enter to win a $ 500 gift card and take advantage of other special giveaways.
“Since the safety of our customers and employees is of the utmost importance to us, we will open on Wednesday, December 2nd, with modified opening events,” said Lidl.

The shop is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Lidl operates around 11,200 branches with locations in 32 countries. The company employs more than 310,000 people worldwide.
Food & Wine Magazine has selected Lidl as one of the top 10 in the US supermarket ranking.
Lidl recently announced that it will expand health insurance to all workers, including part-time workers.
Lidl’s original Philadelphia store is located at 2290 E Butler Street. Other locations in the area include Folsom, Pennsylvania; Royersford, Pennsylvania; Lansdale, Pennsylvania; Cherry Hill, New Jersey; and Middletown, Delaware.
