Man arrested in connection with two early morning fires in Kitchener

Local police arrested a suspect in connection with two fires in Kitchener early Saturday morning.

At 7:45 am, emergency services responded to reports of a car fire at a business near Victoria Street North and Natchez Road.

Although the fire was extinguished by local emergency services, the suspect fled the area.

Through investigation, police determined the suspect had set a mattress fire in the same area at 4:15 am

There were no physical injuries reported as a result of either incident.

A 23-year-old Kitchener man was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with the following:

  • Break, Enter and Commit Arson
  • Arson- Damage to Property
