Man in custody after 3 women assaulted in downtown Kitchener in ‘hate-motivated incident’: police

Waterloo Regional Police arrested a 44-year-old man in connection with a “hateful incident”.

It is said that three women were walking down King Street in downtown Kitchener when a stranger approached them and assaulted them.

The man escaped before the police could arrive, but was tracked down near the crime scene and arrested.
He faces multiple charges, including assault, strangulation, outright threats, and possession of a substance on Schedule 1.

The women were slightly injured by the incident and were cared for by paramedics on site.
