A new skate park in Kitchener will officially open today, with opening ceremonies from 11am to 1pm

Kitchener’s Upper Canada Skatepark is a street style course designed by Newline Skateparks with a mix of vertical elements and rails for different skill levels.

It is located on the west corner of Homer Watson Boulevard and Pioneer Drive, across from existing city park amenities like the basketball court and baseball diamonds.

The opening ceremonies include speeches, ribbon cuts, interviews, as well as pro-skateboarding demos and food trucks. The demos will be conducted by Team Canada’s youngest national team member, Fay DeFazio Ebert, and national team member Adam Hopkins.

It’s located at 120 Pioneer Drive in Kitchener.
