Police car hits suspect when responding to Kitchener break-in
KITCHENER — A police cruiser hit a man police suspect of trying to break into a construction site Monday.
At around 1:35 am, Waterloo Regional Police were called to the King Street West and Andrew Street area for a break-and-enter in progress.
When officers arrived, police found a man who tried to run off.
Police tried to block the suspect with their police cruiser, but the man made contact with the vehicle.
Paramedics took him to a local hospital with minor injuries.
A 30-year-old from Kitchener is charged with break and enter and possession of stolen property under $5,000.
Police released him with a court date in January 2023.
The investigation is ongoing.
