Regional police make arrest after early morning stabbing in Kitchener

Local police have made an arrest after a knife stab in the Sheldon Avenue North and King Street East areas of Kitchener.

According to the service, the incident occurred shortly after 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning

In response to a report of a man chasing another man with a knife, regional police said officers located and arrested the suspect shortly after arrival.

The victim the suspect was pursuing was not located.

Shortly afterwards, the police received a report about another man who had been stabbed in the area.

A police investigation found that the same suspect stabbed another victim, a 72-year-old man, who fled the area for help before the police arrived at the scene.

The second victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Several charges are being brought against a 19-year-old man and he is on remand.

A 19-year-old man faces numerous charges after being stabbed on Sheldon Avenue in Kitchener.

Charges include assault causing bodily harm, attacking with a weapon, and possession of a weapon.
