Sacred fire in Kitchener to honour those lost in residential school system
The host is The Healing of the Seven Generations on Frederick Street, a fire that will last a week
A time to honor the survivors and those lost in the boarding system.
The Healing of the Seven Generations will host a sacred fire that burns at 300 Frederick Street for seven days.
The opening ceremony will take place on Friday at 3:00 p.m., the closing ceremony on Thursday, July 1, at 2:00 p.m.
The organizers are seeking additional support, including fire attendants who take care of the fire, along with drummers, singers, and dancers for both the opening and closing ceremonies.
If you want to honor the children, you will be asked to leave a letter, photo, drawing or flowers on the spot.
