WRPS looking for person of interest after Kitchener shooting

This incident occurred on Thursday morning in the area of ​​Highland Road and Westmount Road

Local police are now looking for someone of interest who was believed to have been in the area at the time of the early morning shooting on Thursday.

Investigators released a picture of the person they want to speak to in connection with the shooting.

Regional police said they responded around 2:45 a.m. on Thursday in the Highland Road and Westmount Road area after receiving multiple reports of gunfire being fired. They said shots were fired into a vehicle parked in front of a supermarket.

At the time there were supposed to be two people in the vehicle, but no one was injured.

Police are also looking for a suspect described as a black man who was last seen in dark clothes. The suspect was seen in a gray vehicle waiting nearby.
